Designer Ugur Sahin Wants To Make This New Take On The Alfa 33 Stradale

This is designer Ugur Sahin’s modern interpretation of the legendary Alfa Romeo Stradale 33 originally created in 1967 by Franco Scaglione. You’ve probably guessed that it’s based on the Alfa 4C platform but in order to get closer to the very different proportions of the Stradale 33, while still matching up to the chassis hard points, the rear of the car has been extended in length. It’s been named the “Nivola” in honor of racer Tazio Nuvolari, whose nickname was Nivola. He won the European Grand Prix championship, two Mille Miglias and the 24 Hours of Le Mans driving Alfa Romeos.

The Nivola is still at render stage but Sahin is looking for orders to build cars on 4C donors. He’s currently best-known for the outrageous Jonckheere Aerodynamic Coupe II concept, inspired by the famous 1935 ‘Round-Door’ Rolls-Royce, and a “modern-day” Jaguar E-type. Will the Nivola get built? That remains to be seen.

As much as I love the 4C, the Tipo 33 Stradale is one of the most (arguably THE most) exquisite cars ever made, and this doesn’t even get close to replicating it.

I’m with them fellas.

If you parked both cars side by side, it’d be clear that it was a bad idea. However, if the “Alfa Romeo Heritage Foundation” wanted to create some continuation examples of the 33, that’d be cool.

I applaud the concept but it still looks too much like a 4C and there are some designs like a 33 Stradale that should be left alone. difficult to replicate or compete with perfection!

Agree, and I’m guessing the conversion is a healthy six figures in addition to the donor vehicle.
