The Ferrari F8 Tributo Looks Even Better As A Spider In This Unofficial Render

It has become something of a tradition with Italian supercar manufacturers that every time they release the latest mid-engined supercar, an even more desirable drop-top variant is waiting to steal its thunder. This has certainly been the case with both Lamborghini and Ferrari of late; practically every mid-engined model on sale has a corresponding Spider or Roadster version to go with it. The recently revealed Ferrari F8 Tributo will continue this trend—and X-Tomi Design has unofficially rendered an F8 Tributo Spider to see how this new supercar could look with a removable roof.

The answer, to our eyes at least, is pretty darn good. While this 710hp sports car may follow an evolutionary styling approach from the 488GTB, it draws inspiration from classic designs too, as can be seen with the twin rear light clusters that featured on the beautiful 308 GTB and GTS. The render, meanwhile, shows the same styling changes as are apparent on the 488 Spider, and that model was a mere 110lbs heavier than its coupé stablemate. In terms of technology and performance though, the F8 Tributo is more closely comparable to the 488 Pista Spider. That model was actually lighter than the coupé Pista, a first for Ferrari, and they may well repeat this feat when it is time for the F8 Tributo to shed its top.

With the current hardtop F8 Tributo already weighing less than the Pista Spider, the Spider variant should retain the jaw-dropping performance capabilities of this intense supercar. To recap, that means a 0-62mph time of 2.9-seconds and a top speed of 211mph from the 710hp 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8, which should sound even more intense with the roof down. Those numbers would certainly match up well to recent arrivals like the 710hp McLaren 720S Spider and 631hp Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder.
