For any sports car enthusiast, there is nothing quite like a Morgan. The family-owned British manufacturer is synonymous with producing hand-crafted sports cars of inimitable charisma, craftsmanship and quality, that also are fun to drive and offer fine performance. Appropriately therefore Morgan is getting star billing at the forthcoming Petrolicious Drivers’ Meeting at Bicester Heritage, in Oxfordshire, UK ,on May 12. And two of its more recent models will be at the event for attendees to witness first hand—the new Morgan Plus 4 110 Works as well as the Morgan Aero GT. This year is particularly special for Morgan as it is celebrating its 110th anniversary in 2019, and to mark this it’s introduced a range of ‘110 Anniversary’ models of which the Plus 4 110 Works is at the forefront.

The Petrolicious Drivers’ Meeting showing will be one of the first public appearances of the new 110 Works in the UK. Attendees in Bicester will therefore be one of the very first to see it for themselves up close. For this special anniversary car edition, a number of departments across the Morgan business entered their own vision of the perfect Morgan Plus 4 specification, which then were optimised by Morgan Design alongside Morgan’s in-house racing division AR Motorsport, to create the Plus 4 110 Works Edition.

As with all 110 Anniversary models, this Plus 4 has unique badging, subtly on the bonnets and wheels, to denote its significance as an 110th year edition. It also has an extensive list of specially selected performance and styling options included at no extra cost, and comes either in traditional British racing green or a more contemporary silver finish. The interior also is suitably elegant, finished in black leather, contrasted with oatmeal box-weave carpets and complete with 110 anniversary embroidered headrests, a Ravenwood satin finished dashboard and a black Moto-Lita leather-rimmed steering wheel.

The race-inspired Aero GT meanwhile was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show last year, and was described by Morgan as its most extreme road-going model to date. The one at the Bicester event is one of just eight special Aero GT variants produced, all built bespoke to an exacting customer specification with an individual design consultancy. A finite enameled ‘GT’ badge—handmade by a British jeweler—signifies the model variant. Adding to the car’s distinction, it’s powered by the Morgan N62 V8 engine and will be the final Morgan to feature a naturally-aspirated V8. This ensures that the Petrolicious Drivers’ Meeting is an exceptionally rare opportunity to see such a unique as well as significant piece of Morgan history in the flesh. Morgan Motor Company also is sponsoring the event, and Morgan videos will be shown on the big screen in the main events hangar.

The Morgans will be among the star attractions at the Petrolicious Drivers’ Meeting at the renowned Bicester Heritage, in Oxfordshire, UK, on Sunday May 12. They’re £12.50 per adult, or free to Petrolicious members. For more about the show see this story.
