UK Enthusiasts Are Aiming To Set A New World Record For The Longest Parade of Volvo Cars

There’s a Guinness World Record for most things, and that includes the “longest parade of Volvos”, which was set in Poland in 2010. Now UK Volvo enthusiasts are aiming to break that record. The attempt will take place on Sunday 31 March at the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire, where there’s room for thousands of Volvos to line up—though it will need just 600 cars to break the existing record. Among the Volvo models expected are post-war classics such as the 120 “Amazon” series and the P1800 coupés, through the iconic estate cars and saloons of the 1980s and ’90s to current examples. Several of the cars promised are tuned and/or customized.

The record attempt is free to enter and to watch, with cars lining up between noon and 2pm ready for the moving parade to be monitored by Guinness World Record officials. Donations and proceeds from merchandise sales will support the Breast Cancer Care UK charity.
