The 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans was a special race for Ford fans and an absolute nightmare for Enzo Ferrari. In the end, the challengers from Michigan trounced Ferrari, showing the world just how quick American cars were capable of going.
Somewhat unusual was that Ford supplied the latest in Mulsanne-monstering hardware to various teams, so each had a subtly different approach to winning in the 24 hour race. Each also wore a unique paint scheme, largely free from sponsorship—without numbers on the side, these are sports cars, after all.
The artists at Unique & Limited have commemorated the 1966 race with a limited number of posters from the event, showing each of the top-finishing GT40s in beautiful, as-raced detail.
Reproduced on high-quality, rough beige paper, each is akin to a “hero” card, albeit enlarged to reinforce the memory of the GT40 being on helluva Ford.
