Vanderhall Motor Works Now Sells These Crazy American Three-Wheelers In Europe

American auto-cycle maker Vanderhall Motor Works is now selling its mad-as-a-box-of-frogs three-wheelers in Europe, following a debut at the 2019 Brussels Auto Salon by Lenoir, the Brand’s official Belgian distributor. It displayed two of the three-wheeler Vanderhall Venice models alongside a new single-seater limited-edition Venice Speedster, one of just 250 examples being produced. The vehicles are officially classified as auto-cycles, rather than cars or motorcycles, and are powered through the front wheels by a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, mounted in a composite lightweight bodyshell and separate chassis. The Venice weighs just 624kg (1375lb) and delivers 185bhp via a six-speed sequential gearbox. Performance is a claimed 0-60mph time of under 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 140mph.

All Vanderhall roadster models have now been homologated for European markets, so later in the year deliveries of the more luxurious Carmel model, plus the all-electric Edison 2 variant, will also begin via Vanderhall’s European dealer network. The company was founded in 2010 in Provo, Utah, USA by enthusiast Steve Hall, and released the first auto-cycle–the three-wheeler Laguna–in 2015. That was followed by the Venice in late 2016, with the Edison 2 and the Carmel, as well as the limited-edition Speedster, now being launched.
