Never miss a petrolicious video, and there is nothing I love to watch more than a rare Porsche or Ferrari with lineage and history and a cracking exhaust note, but somehow this video has them all beat. Really a window into a different time.

I think the story is great , it reminds me of my youth my father was in WW 2 and I have a picture of him standing next to his jeep over in Germany right after the war was over . My dad had a Harley I have pictures of also. He gave to the MP’s when he was discharged . We also had an old teardrop we went camping in but unfortunately it got swept away in the Agnes flood of 1976 where we camped with it at the old jelly stone park by the river in W Va . So now I’ve had a 1993 jeep wrangler since my son was very young and we love it and do any work on it as well & we have a 1993 Dutchmen trailer we have used for many years . The only problem we have is not having the freedom to go camping the way that you do because of where we live it’s just about impossible to find any place that will allow you to go camping in the backwoods like that . It’s was great hearing your story Sincerely Glenn .

Far and away one of top stories presented by the folks at Petrolicious. Really appreciate the tone and delivery of this story, earnest storytelling and authentic 50s-60s Americana. Well done.

I’ve known Larry and his family since I was a child. Larry has taught me so much about cars, boats and engines, and his Mom and Dad were special. I love this video so very much, such a well done job by Petrolicious, thank you!

@ GaryT, happened to me as well.

What a great film and story. There was an article about this car a few weeks or month back and that was great as well. I even learned a bit, it does not take much for a nice and happy vacation, a trailer hitch (even on a Prius) and a tear drop trailer and off you can go.
Thanks so much Petrolicious and Larry Shank, the little film made my day

This brought tears to my eyes after seeing the spot where he played the film and him going up the Jeep’s steps.

not a jeep person, but phenomenal story and vehicle. it’s a shame he doesn’t have a kid to pass on his story, rig and integrity

Outstanding film, as always. Superb choice for the story, and very inspirational, too. As the father of two preschool aged kids, makes me want to head out as a family and find our own places in the world, far away from screens and indoor air. I may not have an off road vehicle, but it’s clear that as great as that would be, it’s about the adventure, conversations and bonding that give life to the machines beneath us.

What if you could keep the 911, but still find those hills?

Don’t sell the 911. I have one and nothing can replace them.

Don’t sell the 911. Keep it AND get a Jeep.
