CarFest is the family-friendly motoring festival created by radio presenter and total car nut, Chris Evans. Having just completed the very successful CarFest North in July, it is time to head to Laverstoke Park Farm where CarFest South will be taking place from 23 to 25 August. Visitors will once again be able to enjoy a variety of music, celebrity chefs and plenty of cars at the venue, which is owned by Formula 1 champ Jody Scheckter.

With Scheckter celebrating 40 years since his memorable Drivers’ Championship at the wheel of a Ferrari in 1979, he will be hosting a specially curated paddock of Grand Prix cars from across the ages. There will be 30 race cars spanning ten decades, including rare Coopers, Bugattis, McLarens, Lotuses and Alfa Romeos. Scheckter made his F1 debut at the US Grand Prix in Watkins Glen in 1972 driving a McLaren, and he also drove for Tyrrell and Wolff before moving to Ferrari.

“At Carfest this year not only are we going to have a display with all my cars from my whole career but what is maybe more exciting is a proper little race circuit, designed by a company that designs some Formula One circuits, has now been completed on the farm,” said Scheckter. Historically significant Grand Prix cars aside, there will be some impressive displays by major car manufacturers, car clubs and plenty of interactive content for visitors created by  AutoTrader, Michelin, Kwikfit, Subaru, Peugeot and Mercedes Benz. Tickets are limited so if you plan to attend then it is best to visit the organizer’s website (below) and secure your place.
