Today we’re excited to feature two artists who are very different in terms of medium and style, but who are each exceptionally talented in their own right. Both artists are able to evoke emotion in their work by using color and composition, and that’s inspiring to us.
Enjoy and have a great weekend!
Nick Frank is a photographer in Munich, Germany, and we love his Cars series, which places classic cars against matching classic locations. The photographs feel calm and controlled—the sets practically empty without feeling as such—because the stories around the cars and the matching colors fill them up. We’re left wanting to know more about the location, the car’s driver, where they’re going, and why they’ve stopped.
Hailing from Brazil, Rodrigo Castaman is a transportation design student at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. We love his freestyle explorations in the renderings below, especially their use of color and line. The pieces unexpectedly and simultaneously convey both energy and calmness.
