This Year’s ArtCenter Car Classic Is All About The Future
Art by Syd Mead
It’s that time of year again, when the ArtCenter College of Design Car Classic attracts some incredible people and machines to its Pasadena campus. It’s long been one of the most popular events on the automotive calendar, too, thanks to its combination of a laid-back atmosphere and enviable guests.
This year’s theme is “Visions of the Future,” and so the visual futurist Syd Mead will be one of the main attractions. He’s best-known for lending his style to films like Blade Runner, Elysium, and Tron—and those are just the tip of the iceberg. A former ArtCenter graduate, it’ll be a pleasure to see him highlighted during the show.
With a great mix of vehicles, live interviews, student artwork on display, food, and a drawing workshop for aspiring young artists, it’s tough to imagine a more enjoyable way to spend Sunday, October 25.
Ticket prices range from free (children 12 and under) to $40 at the door, and can be purchased from the ArtCentre website.
