Silverstone Auctions will be hosting a one-day sale dedicated to two of the most desirable supercar marques on 21 September. Starting the day off with an automobilia auction, the afternoon will see a stunning selection of Ferraris and Porsches being put on the auction block in two separate events. One of the cars on offer in the Ferrari sale will be this 1977 512 BB finished in Rosso with Nero interior.
Of the 929 cars built this is one of just 101 right-hand-drive models produced. It has been in private ownership for the past seven years and has covered just 33,500 miles in 42 years, an oversight its new owner will hopefully rectify, although with an estimate of £190,000 to £220,000 it will most likely spend most of its time being a static piece of automotive art.
The Porsche sale taking place shortly afterward will feature this pristine 2005 Carrera GT, painted in Basalt Black with matching interior. Considered by many to be one of the last analog supercars, the mid-mounted 603hp 5.7-liter V10 emits a visceral and intoxicating sound as you shift through the six-speed manual gearbox on the way to 205mph. 1270 of these special cars were built and this example is fitted with a full carbon pack and comes with a custom Porsche luggage set. With just 4300 miles registered on the odometer it has yet to be run in. Estimated to sell for between £600,000 to £650,000, this Carrera GT is UK registered and as you might expect comes with a full-service history.
Harry Whale, auction manager for Silverstone Auctions, has a soft spot for the mid-engined Porsche:” The Carrera GT is particularly special with the V10 engine. Who knows if Porsche will ever produce an engine like this again.” He went on to say that both the Ferrari and Porsche were rather unique offerings in the current market with their extremely low mileages and excellent conditions. Silverstone Auctions are still accepting cars for their upcoming auction taking place at the Dallas Burston Polo Club and can be contacted on the link below.
