


While variants of this engine have won their category three years running in the International Engine Of The Year awards, this 710hp version is the most advanced yet and is closely related to the twin-turbo V8 of the Ferrari 488 Challenge, which is running in the Ferrari Challenge UK 2019 series at Brands Hatch this weekend. With advanced features such as titanium connecting rods, a ‘Wall Effect’ rev-limiter that maintains the power right up to the red-line, variable torque management for all gears and a uniquely calibrated (and louder) exhaust system that now incorporates a new Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF), this V8 is both extremely linear and effective in its power delivery and still meets new homologation requirements.


The Ferrari Challenge, meanwhile, will be racing for the first time at Brands Hatch in the UK Series, which is the only National Championship operated by Ferrari, and completes the Ferrari Challenge Championships, which is made up of the European series, North American series, and the Asia Pacific series. Enzo Ferrari once said that when you buy a Ferrari you are paying for the engine and the rest is thrown in for free; while the chassis and bodywork of the F8 Tributo is nothing short of state-of-the-art, the award-winning V8 tucked in behind the driver sure does steal the limelight in this very special mid-engined supercar.
