Few details are available, prior to the SCV12’s official reveal sometime this summer: we don’t even know the size of the engine. ButLamborghini has confirmed it will make a whopping 830hp. There is no turbo or supercharger, but instead the hypercar will use what the Italian marque calls ‘aerodynamic supercharging’; a duct on the roof focuses air into the engine at high speed, so basically the faster you go, the more power you have at your disposal.







If headlights aren’t important here (because there are none), aerodynamics certainly are. The hood of the SCV12 has a double air intake and a central rib that direct air into the scoop. Meanwhile, the rest of the carbon fibre body panels, such as the front splitter and rear carbon fibre wing, are dedicated to keeping it on the track, making for a combined downforce higher than that of a GT3 race car.
The rear-wheel-drive car has a carbon fibre monocoque chassis, a sequential six-speed gearbox that also doubles as a structural element for the rear pushrod suspension and chassis, and it rides on a set of slick Pirelli tires fitted on magnesium rims (19in front, 20in rear).
And new owners won’t just get this beast of a car but the training to drive it in fury. Courses will be available at various tracks around the world under the tutelage of Emanuele Pirro, five-time winner of the24 Hours of Le Mans and Lamborghini Squadra Corse Special Projects Consultant.
No other details are available as of yet, including the price, but it should go without saying that if dropping a few million dollars is a problem for you, then move along.
