One Of These Six Cars Will Win The UK's Restorer Of The Year Competition
These six cars are the finalists for the UK's best restoration at the forthcoming Classic Car & Restoration Show, for which classic car enthusiasts are invited to pick 16 vehicles that have featured as ‘Reader Restorations’ in Practical Classics magazine over the past 12 months. Further votes are then tallied to narrow the contestants down to the six finalists you see here. They're cars that have all been the subject of extensive restoration work by their owners, so it was a difficult task; acting show director Lee Masters said, “All 16 entries would have been deserving winners and the close results of the voting show just what a tough decision it was, but we now have our final six. The owners have done an amazing job in restoring their cars and I can’t wait to see which one is going to be crowned this year’s Restorer of the Year.”









The six cars all have unique and interesting back stories. Enthusiasts will need to decide between offerings as diverse as a one-off 2016 Rover 75 Coupé inspired by a 2004 concept car, a 1990 MG Maestro Turbo that took two and a half years to restore and a 1974 Datsun 240Z that has been in the same family for over 20 years. All six vehicles will be on display at the Classic Car & Restoration Show at the Birmingham NEC from 22-24 March, where the outright winner will be announced.
