Oselli offering three FIA MGBs for hire
Classic sports car specialist Oselli is building three FIA-specification MGB race cars to rent for the 2018 historic season, with a full service-support package also on offer.

This is the first time Oselli has offered a ‘rent a drive’ scheme in its 55-year history. But the move follows requests from customers who have previously had cars built by and raced with the company.

The cars – which are currently being built – are an early 1962 MGB, a 1964 example that has been in storage with Oselli for more than 20 years, and a 1965 model that uses a heritage shell. All examples will be ready for the coming historic racing season, with the ‘62 and ‘64 available for pre-season testing in February. All cars are set to compete in the Equipe GTS series.

Prices range from £38,000 to £45,000 fully equipped – with a full race-support package included. Trackside data analysis is also part of the deal, and is supplemented by Oselli’s rolling-road and dyno facilities in the workshop.

Should the new project prove successful, then cars can also be supported to race across Europe in blue riband events such as the Six Hours of Spa.

Oselli owner and former senior manager at Aston Martin, David Eales, is still an active racer with his son Paul. They have competed in Equipe GTS, the Silverstone Classic and FIA Masters series, and have provided race support to Sir Stirling Moss and Rowan Atkinson at the Revival in previous years.

Eales said: ‘It all comes down to supply and demand. We have a race department starting this year, and will support any car that is wanted. We have had a GT4 Aston Martin race with us before, and if you want an A40 at the Revival then it’s no problem. There’s nothing we can’t do.’

The three pre-1965 roadsters are also being offered for sale.
