You might be familiar with Matt Jacobsen and his eclectic collection of Volkswagens. If you aren’t, it’s broken down pretty much like this: Matt likes things as they were, and to him a ground-up restoration will never be look as good or drive as well as something that’s been preserved. And preserved is a pretty loose term if you’ve seen his 23-window VW Bus. Patina is better than new paint when it comes to this guy.
This is evident in a few of Matt's cars, including the '55 oval-window Beetle that wears its past proudly. This car was just featured on Jay Leno's Garage, and you can watch that episode right here below.
