Dixon’s automotive passion extended to a selection of Volkswagens bookmarked by a stock standard 1967 Beetle Deluxe sedan and a 2004 Beetle Ultima Edition. In-between these two are interesting oddities like a 1956 Beetle Outlaw by Franz Muhr and a 1973 Volkswagen Thing. The collectible items are as varied as the cars on offer; among them are a Porsche helicopter engine, Arova-Porsche Skibob and 356 Carrera Four-cam motor.

All are sure to be snapped up by avid collectors, but perhaps the most fascinating item is a 1953 Porsche 356 Limousine Custom, stretched to accommodate a third row of seats and built with remarkable attention to detail. It was apparently built out of a thoroughly rusted out pre-A 356 for Dixon’s daughter’s wedding. This sort of quirky build is just the sort of thing that fun-loving John Dixon would have next to a factory-spec 1967 Porsche 911 S Coupe in his garage.
