An authentic car-lover’s garage can come in many shapes and forms, ranging from the orderly chaos that gives Venisio’s garage its unique beauty and charm to the functional precision and efficiency of Jack Olsen’s 12-Gauge Garage, but in all cases garages reflect the owners’ character and their approach to creating the ideal workspace and home for their beloved machines.

Today we bring you a garage in Montecito, California, which displays no traces of any car enthusiast’s character and serves only as a space to showcase a handful of automobiles, but what a stunning showcase it is!  The space demands a certain caliber of machine to be worthy of being sheltered in this shrine.  On the day I visited the garage, four very special Alfa Romeos proudly occupied the space: a Giulietta SZ, a Giulia TZ, a Duetto, and the extremely rare, lust-worthy Tipo 33 Stradale.

Which four cars would fill the garage if this house were yours?

Putting aside the fact that I love Alfa Romeos, I would do this:
1) Keep the 33
2) Mazda RX-7 (I already have this)
3) Ferrari 288 GTO
4) Lamborghini Miura

Like your thinking! I have an Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV Coupe (1972). A fun car but would love a Ferrari to sit along side her.

What a collection!

For my garage, the 4 would be:
-1973 Alpine-Renault A110
-1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 Coupe
-1993 Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16v Evoluzione II
-1998 Subaru Impreza STI 22B

Honorable mention – I’d also take a 1994 Defender 90 in a diesel. Thanks. 🙂

It’s missing a Scalino, but I suppose the 33 Stradale makes up for it.

I probably have a small ambition. If I had to take just four cars, I’d take the following:
Fiat 500 (original one, of course)
Mini Cooper 998cc
Renault R8 Gordini
Alfa Romeo Spider 1300 junior Duetto

Owner pretty much nailed it. I’d replace that Duetto with a custom 4C Spyder with an EV drivetrain. Set.

I suspect that garage holds more than four vehicles…..but if I HAVE to limit it to four, I’d go with:

Cord 812 SC
Jaguar E Type roadster (Series I)
300SL gullwing
1961 Lincoln Continental suicide door convertible

I guess I’d park the Continental Mark II and the 66 Toronado in the driveway………

Four is a nice number:

1. My Cobra preference alternates between 289 FIA and 427 with the phase of the moon, tides, wind direction, etc. Tonight…FIA.
2. Ferrari 330 GTC.
3. Audi A6 with the diesel motor while I still can.
4. Chevron B16.

I’m sure I’ll have a different quartet next week.

Hmmm, only four? Maybe a white Lamborghini Espada for dragging the family around, a red aluminum Alfa Low Nose SS just because, Lancia Aurelia Nardi Blue Ray I as the ‘unique’ entry so I have something no one else does and a silver Aston DB5 to give me an excuse to wear my nice suits.

Oh, and yeah – nice cars!

Best not to meet your Espada hero behind the wheel. Methinks you’d be disappointed. It begs the question, what’s got 4 seats and is jaw droppingly weird while still offering some niggles of performance in its day?

I don’t own four cars to maintain the proper symmetry, and it looks big enough for a nice workshop. So, based on my current automobile collection, I’d clearly be moving my tools in there instead of my cars.
Amazing home. Beautiful Stradale.

I see the sales blurp on the house says it can actually hold up to 32 cars and it is a different but equally gorgeous four cars in their pictures.

As to four cars
Ferrari 365GTB/4 ‘Daytona’ Berlinetta
Mercedes 300 SL Roadster (late model one with disc brakes and Rudge wheels)
Ferrari 400 Superamerica coupe Aerodinamico SWB series 1 car
Lancia Flaminia Super Sport Zagato
