Great story. Wonderful car. How did you come up with the number ‘53’ for your car?

Very cool, Kenny… as a jag owner ( ’54 XK120 and a Lynx DType) I have 2 suggestions… and I’m sure you’ve heard them both :
1) get that stereo/speakers outta there…
2) get that gorgeous thing on the track and vintage race it, ..
best- Kurt

Some say that the Enzo Ferrari quote regarding the E Type is a myth, others swear by it. Does anyone know for sure?

The Quote comes from a biographical book on Enzo Ferrari by an Italian journalist and Author Gino Rancati, based on his own recollections of conversations with Enzo Ferrari over many years. Rancati’s book came out in 1977 and the conversation was said to have taken place in 1964.

Jaguar test driver Norman Dewis was also quoted as saying that Enzo told him that when he was introduced to Ferrari at the Geneva show. The problem with this is Dewis did not speak Italian and Enzo did not speak English (at least not in public to people he didn’t know anyway) so if the quote was made at the time it was via translator so could have been mistranslated.

The short answer is it is certain possible Ferrari said it but there is no hard evidence only hearsay.

A friend of mine has one of these very similar to this one. Newer but engine and suspension done, Body is not. His plan is to “Outlaw” it as well. Now if it can only be extracted from Miami and put back on Mulholland.

What? Ken… not in the Scuderia? Ken is a very notable past president of FCA-SW and still very active doing great things for the club. He also has another beautiful touring E-Jag in his garage along with the Prancing Horses. Wonderful video!
