Motorcyclists Crave Summer Protection

In the motorcycle world, the transition from bike to street to office can be difficult. No one wants to go to lunch wearing a giant leather racing suit. So it’s nice when a manufacturer takes normal street fashion and applies the latest in safety gear to create something to keep you safe and stylish while riding and after you’ve parked. Crave’s products do just that.

Our current favorite product by Crave is their AXE 2 Motorcycle Shirt. The outer shell is 100% polyester, the internal shell is 100% Dupont™ Kevlar® fiber, and pockets that fit CE protectors on the shoulders, back, and elbows. Since this shirt is much lighter than a leather jacket and has armpit ventilation zippers, it is a great choice for summer riding, because you’ll be both safe and cool.

As a plus, the bright color selections and fashionable pattern makes this high on the wife-approval scale.

When I rode, I had a Hit-Air airbag jacket, road rash is one thing, a broken neck is much worse.

Nothing — except flow through armour, and perhaps an evaporative vest — will both protect you and look stylish at anything above 25 degrees C.

Not something you’d want to wear on a sportsbike though…

@JB : Please define “committed” … I am riding an average 600 km a month – in full leathers. Am I committed in your eyes? And I don’t see “hipster” in a shirt with kevlar and armor. I would love to try it out.

Don’t mean to be an arse about such things, but I think the committed motorbike riders don’t need such hipster-lookalike riding clothes, we already got, or will purchase proper riding attire.

I really like it. I don’t see it as hipster at all, it is quite a popular style in my area of the country.
