Since the early 1950s, racers have viewed the picturesque circuit in Imola, Italy to be one of the most challenging anywhere. Fast and flowing thanks to the way it follows the natural landscape and borders the Santerno river, it’s known for stories involving the harrowing Tamburello corner, past successes by Italian drivers and teams—and for being a great place to wring out vintage racing cars.
Our photographer Rosario Liberti was on hand during the recent Imola Classic, and grouped this selection of photos around the color red. The circuit itself is named Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, the team has won eight Grands Prix there and of the tracks in Italy capable of hosting an F1 race it’s the closest to the famous Maranello automaker.
At this year’s Imola Classic, Rosario paid special attention to the unforgettable Ferrari 250 GT SWB Breadvan, in addition to the red Maseratis and Alfa Romeos that made it out to thisPeter Auto -organized competition.
