The Pagani Huayra BC is an exquisitely designed hypercar named in honor of the late Benny Caiola, a friend of Horacio Pagani and the company’s very first customer. The BC is both more powerful and lighter than the standard Huayra and its extensive aerodynamic modifications make it even more capable on track. A mere 20 of these carbon fiber coupes have been built and each one is made even more special with bespoke features and styling elements.
The 2017 Huayra BC Macchina Volante “Flying Machine” pays tribute to Horacio’s role model, Leonardo Da Vinci, a man whose inventions and designs were well ahead of their time. The Macchina Volante’s body panels are finished in fully exposed carbon fiber in a color combination of Blu Tricolore and Grey, superbly contrasted by the multi-spoke gold-colored wheels. Macchina Volante badging and inscriptions are peppered throughout the car and there are many other subtle touches such as the blue anodized ball shifter and rare snorkel air intakes. The signatures of the Pagani employees involved in this project can be also be seen underneath the rear clam.
Another legend is also honored here in the use of an extremely rare tartan fabric and the number 12, which is featured on the bespoke high-downforce rear wing. A similar fabric and that race number were used on the 1955 Mercedes-Benz W196 Formula 1 car piloted by Juan Manuel Fangio. A seven-piece luggage set is finished in the same tartan material and was made specifically for this car. The AMG-sourced twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 produces 745hp and 811 lb-ft of torque which gives this 2685-pound hypercar the performance to match its looks. This spectacular vehicle is now being offered by Miller Motorcars of Greenwich Connecticut and the price is available upon request.
