What Is Your Favorite Automotive Forum?

It is a toss up over what is currently my favorite automotive forum.  I visit both the BMW2002FAQ and the Pelican Parts Forum on a daily basis.  The first is because I have owned a 1974 2002 for close to five years, and the second is because I have lately been addicted to all things Porsche.

What I love about both forums is that they are very friendly places to visit with their incredibly supportive communities, and the wealth of knowledge is vast.  I must admit that I spend most of my time in the Porsche Cars for Sale forum on Pelican and it stokes my desire more and more every day to purchase a 911.  I think the only cure will be when I finally break down and buy one.

Don’t assume he is aware of anything you haven’t explicitly mentioned. You need to be aware of any potential discrepancies since he can have completely different goals from yours. Additionally, if you are aware that he will never live up to your standards, you must be prepared to end the relationship.Talktowendy.com

Saabworld for the Saab fans. It is not the biggest or the busiest Saab forum, but has the most friendly people from all around the world, with lots of camaraderie, and lots of technical info. It is lightly moderated, and not owned by Virtual Scope or any other company that loves to buy up fan sites and turn them into cash cows. Saabworld is 100\% fan owned (thanks Frank!) and it will stay that way.

FerrariChat. The knowledge base of the community is staggering, including (maybe especially) in the vintage section, as well as in the “starter” (e.g., 360, 550) Ferrari section.

Specifically the e36 section.

My first BMW was a 95 318i and i joined for the usual “help me” stuff. But now its like family with those guys, Ive driven from NY to both the SoCal and MD Bimmerfest shows to meet and greet the people I know from that forum. Its truely an awesome group of fellas.

Now thanks in large part to the love i have for the community Im on my 4th BMW and my first ’02! 🙂

That makes 02, e30, e36, and e39 since I first got the bug. Thats how good of a forum it is 😉

I have a love / hate relationship with car forums but I do spend a lot of time on them particularly the ones related to classic Ferrari’s. The vintage sections of Ferrarichat and Ferrarilife are obvious places for this but I also recommend Tom Yang’s site for anyone considering restoring an old Ferrari http://www.tomyang.net/cars/ferrari.html Forum is small but posters know what they’re talking about.

Isobizchat.com is also good for people interested in Iso’s and Bizzarrini’s

I got into 67-72 Chevy Truck with my first vehicle,a ’69 Chevy C10. It was a horrible POS, but the forum was great. Very supportive as I learned how to work on the truck, and tons of inspiring vehicles on there.

FABO I found as a result of buying my ’68 Dart. Again, super supportive, it’s just a wealth of information for anybody interested in Mopar A-bodies.
