The Mercedes 250 SE Coupé was built for the 1966-67 model-years until it was replaced by the 280 SE. Equipped with a 2.5L straight-six with fuel injection making 150 horsepower. Records show 5,259 were built during its two year run. Not a bad showing for an exclusive coupe that was only within the reach of the well-heeled.

But today, the 250 SE Coupé is a reasonably priced collectible. This 63,422-mile 1966 version on eBay has been maintained in climate-controlled storage and is equipped with automatic transmission, “ice-cold air conditioning,” and tan leather interior to complement the green exterior. The seller claims “tires are brand-new and still under warranty.” With no dents or dings to speak of (and having experienced no accidents over its lifetime), this Mercedes will show the Joneses in Beverly Hills or Bloomfield Hills that you have impeccable taste and are a man or woman of substance.

Though GTI is an old one, I still prefer it over brand new ones. Vintage cars have good specs, I believe. But mates, before you go to the car dealership, it is usually better to get pre-approved on a car loan and do some homework. When you go to buy a car, a lot of dealers want you to buy on your first visit. This prevents you from checking the prices everywhere else. This Mercedes body style is in my opinion probably the prettiest that Mercedes-Benz has ever made, it is just zoo refined and quite simple yet astoundingly beautiful, truly a masterpiece!

A timeless classic for sure. I owned a 220SE coupe, same color and look, back in the 70’s, then later the big brother 300SE coupe.. same body, but a fire breathing engine with manual tranny and that famous Mercedes air suspension. You could raise and lower the car at will with a lever under the dash. At the time I was a starving musician, and began worrying about repair costs should something go wrong, and turned it over to the next owner. Always wondered where that beauty wound up.

I can’t call myself a “mercedes guy”, but over the years, in addition to the two mentioned above, I’ve owned a 250C coupe, and a 500SL, as well as the two beauties currently gracing my garage: a 230SL AND a 280SL roadster. These were truly the last of the somewhat hand-built mercedes, and I treasure mine.
