Design and color have a large part to play in the history of the automotive world. Here, we’ve married the two things together for the purpose of showcasing their influences on automotive culture.

Some facts about green cars:

• According to a recent PPG Industries report, green doesn’t rank very high in car color popularity. Globally, 2% of cars are green.

• There has been a superstition among NASCAR drivers that having a green car is unlucky. Fear of green race cars is beginning to fade; however, mainly due to sponsors paying money to put whatever colors they want on the side of a race car.

The Lotus that Jim Clark was killed in was in the red and white of gold leaf cigarettes not green. Almost all british entered GP cars were entered in the fifties and sixties were ‘British Racing’ green and took multiple world titles. Drivers were killed in them too but probably statiistically no more than the red cars from Italy or the blue cars from France.

Hey guys, any chance you could post links to the images individually? They’re too good!

Hi Daniel!

At the bottom of the post, there is always a “Photo Sources” line. Are those the links you’re looking for?
