Lovely video. I am impressed that 1.5 liters was competitive for a race of that duration. Apparently the engines were inline fours, with a single over-head cam, with a rather long stroke compared to the bore. There were two side draft carburetors. So these were configured much like an engine of the 1950s. The engine produced 70 hp, and must have produced an enormous amount of torque, given the length of the stroke. Wikipedia has some details, under the heading: “Aston Martin Le Mans”.
