Congrats Ashley, you and the E28 have now been immortalized for the car world to see! My E28 M5 has been with me since I bought it in 1989, brand new and had truly been the love of my life. I could have chosen any car to be my daily driver and after many, the E28 has stayed in my garaged this whole time. Of course I have converted it to Euro specs….just the way the engineers in Munich designed it to be. I just have to be careful where I park her! Parallel parking is not an option. The non- DOT bumpers don’t like any type of impacts!
I can totally understand her feelings for this car. I felt the same when i bought my E36 which was my first car. There is something magical about these cars. I think driving a Bmw, especially a Motorsport model should be on every petrolhead’s list. The sound of that inline six combined with the crisp handling puts a smile on your face, even on your worst day. It’s pure joy. No wonder they call it “The Ultimate Driving Machine.
I just bought an E28 M5 and I’m in love with it! It’s a 3-4 day a week car for me as a change up to my RS6. I really like the look of the euro bumpers. In fact my only 2 gripes with the M5 are the black paint and the huge bumpers. I would like to eventually trade out for a euro spec M5 but that’s down the road.
