Some Safari 911s look the part. A few earn it. Mike Dekkers’ 1983 SC belongs with the ones that earn it, a reminder of how tough and adaptable the air cooled 911 becomes when it is treated as a tool instead of a treasure. Utah’s gravel and canyon roads reveal the platform’s real strengths, from the traction of the rear engine to the simplicity that refuses to quit.
