nice story it come in min mind when was kid my first car was a battle 65 awesome cars ,awesome story and he is great painter ,i follow him on Instagram and such a nice pictures he does ,thanks petrolicoius to bring such a great stories , lucky Manu you still driving a great car now this car old cars previous 80´s are more nice to watch them on this time we are living and bring backmemories.
Awesome car. Makes me want to get another Bug to have as a daily driver. Once you get bitten by the “bug” it stays in your system forever. I will always have room for a Beetle in my garage. Even If I were to win the lottery, I’d have a collection of cool and exotic cars, but in the midst of all of them there will still be a nice Beetle just waiting to be taken out for a nice drive.
I love Petrolicious because they show real passion for motorists and this is video is great I really like the idea of having your own dream car as a daily driver and more importantly a classic Beetle that is awesome and the painting is sublime I love it I want all of them for my room. Thank-you very much Petrolicious!
What a nice car and story!
What I like about Petrolicious is that they don´t always go for garage queens – on this VW you could see that it was clearly a daily driver. Still Petrolicious went for it 🙂 It´s nice to see regular guys with regular cars once in a while.
And what a fortunate guy, to make a living out of his art, and get to drive his dream car every day. Loved the fact that he´s into old bikes – being a former bmx/flatland rider, I also try to collect some 80´s bikes (Haro´s, GT´s, Hutch´s, etc)
All the best to you Manu!
They’re out there, Beetles are. Here and there. A ’61 Beetle and a ’65 Bus, both found in remote SW TX desert where home is, are my daily drivers.
This evening a client dropped a vehicle off for service and a fellow pulled up and asked whether the Bus was for sale. Nawp, that’s not gonna happen. Nice fellow, tried to steer him away from Buses which are truly overvalued and toward a Beetle- really, any Beetle.
I have two other old US vehicles, but they’ve been garaged for some time. I’m giving one a new set of rings at the moment and maybe next year it will be in regular use. For now, though, and for the last 8 or so years, ACVWs have been my only transport. One cannot be in a hurry and in my rural location traffic isn’t an issue- nor evidently is something like AC once one gets used to its absence- but vast distances are, and provided one accedes to the old VW’s way of doing things, which is all told reasonably acceptable and humane after a period of adjustment, it becomes a way of life and not just a way to drive.
